Meet John A Spann, DDS
Dr. Spann is a native of Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harding University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Academic All-American. He graduated with honors with his dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship and Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999, where he served as chief resident and received the Distinguished Alumni Award. He received his board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2002.
He is a member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society and the Tennessee Dental Association. He is active in the Tennessee Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Spann maintains staff privileges at all area hospitals. He is a regular speaker among various study groups in the Chattanooga area, and an ITI Study Club Director for furthering the education of dental implants.
Dr. Spann enjoys traveling, LSU Football, skiing, and being with his three daughters. He is on the Board of Trustees at Girls Preparatory School and participates in activities with his church. He and his wife Stacey, a Chattanooga native, moved to Chattanooga in 1999 to join the Center for Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery team.
